I could hear the roar of the two armies still battling around me. Not a soul could’ve known what was to come. The general sure didn’t. When he initiated the charge, it really did seem like we could be the victors—no, it was certain. But that was because we had thought she already died.
I knew she did. I killed her.
But vengeance seemed to be stronger than death. The colors red and silver were all that could be seen as she slashed her way into the sea of knights, turning the tide of battle, all while looking as beautiful as she did when I first saw her. Now, with half of my comrades dead or about to be, she locks her eyes onto mine.
